Prince of Peace is a small Catholic K-12 school in Clinton, IA on the Mississippi River. River ecology (and flooding!) makes a daily impact on our lives. The seniors of the Advanced Placement Biology class are guiding development of the new BioClub, with activities that include students at all grades. October 23 "Mole Day" will be a school-wide hand-washing extravaganza in the science lab. At the club meeting just before Mole Day, club members will prepare their own choice of scents in an inexpensive but lavish sugar scrub. Club members can also prepare a gift jar for their mothers! In November "PhUn Week" club members will teach the 7th grade P.E. class about heart rate and resting heart rate, and conduct a heart-rate investigation with them.
